History
Cadillac Metro takes its name from the street it is located on, Cadillac bvld which was named after Antoine Laumet, who named himself "de Lamothe, sieur de Cadillac." Laumet was a captain of New France and the commander of the colony of France from 1700 to 1710, then later returned to France and died in 1730
The design of the metro station was done by Longpré, Marchand, Goudreau, Dobush, Stewart & Bourke and the artistic details were done by Jean Cartier. The walls are a dark grey concrete trimmed off with stainless steal metal. The passages above the tracks are designed with Triangular shapes. Near the stairs of the Angrignon platform is 4 distinct cutouts in the concrete, designed to hide the ventilation of the station. There are also 2 murals, at either exit of the station, both designed by Cartier. These murals are designed to be taken down and changed around depending on the season.
Location
Cadillac Metro is located in the borough of Mercier-Hochelage-Maisonneuve on the corner of Cadillac street and Sherbrooke street.
