Viau is a station on the green line of the Montreal Metro.

History

Viau station takes it name from the nearby street, Bvld. Viau, which was named in honor of Charles-Thédore Viau, a local industrialist that owned many parts of land in the area, and had named the lands, Viauville

The design of this metro station was done by Iring Sager and the artistic details were done by Jean-Paul Mousseau. The eastern part of the platforms is where the stairs to upper level are located, this station also only has 1 level. The Stairs at the platform lead directly to street level and to a large pavilion with a ticket booth, a corner store. The artwork located in the pavilion was an art of Jean-Paul Mousseau representing the Olympic Flame and the towers of the stadium.

Location

Viau station is located in the borough of Mercier-Hochelage-Maisonneuve on the corner of Pierre-De-Coubertin street and Théodore streets.
