History

Langelier Metro takes its name from the street it is located on, Langelier bvld which was named after Sir François-Charles-Stanislas Langelier, who occupied many positions of high-power in Quebec. Langelier served as Mayor of Quebec City (1882-1890), Chief Justice of Quebec (1906) and as Lieutenant-Governor (1911-1915).

The design of the metro station was done by Victor Prus & André G. Dionne and the artistic details were done by Charles Daudelin. Many artistic details were designed to hide some station essentials, like ventilation shafts and access points.

Location

Langelier Metro is located in the borough of Mercier-Hochelage-Maisonneuve on the corner of Langelier bvld and Sherbrooke street.
