Transitway
The Transitway is a bus rapid transit system that uses a bus only dedicated lane. Conception of this bus rapid transit system started in 1978. The first portion was opened from Lees to Hurdman and from Lincoln Fields and Baseline in 1983. In 1984, 3 new stations were added to the Transitway; LeBreton, Tunney's Pasture and Westboro along with a new portion of the Transitway opened between LeBreton and the Ottawa River Parkway, which was renamed to Dominion Station.
In 1987, the Transitway between Hurdman and St-Laurent stations, including the tunnel below the St-Laurent Shopping Centre. Route 95 saw its frequency increased to 4 minutes at Rush Hours and to 5 minutes at all other times. The whole Transitway was completed in 1996.
