			The station is named mainly after the Boulvard where it is located. Boulevard St-Laurent, which was created and named in 1720, was a road connecting Montreal with Côte-Saint-Laurent, now a bourough of Montreal.

			It also is belived to be named after the St-Lawrence River (Rivière Saint-Laurent), a river nearby the station.
